Prof Ampie Muller

An astute scholar and educator, and an industrial psychologist of repute, Prof. Muller has worked in the arena of conflict resolution for over two decades. His academic positions have included Professor of Educational Technology at the University of the Witwatersrand and Dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of the Western Cape (UWC), where he also designed a course in understanding conflict. He founded a Department of Industrial and Organisational Psychoogy at UWC. He has also given courses internationally on understanding and managing conflict, and has presented and been an expert guests on television programmes.   

Dr. Gavin Bradshaw

Dr Bradshaw has more than 10 years’ experience teaching political science and 25 years’ experience in conflict resolution, specialising in deep-rooted social conflict in South Africa. He is the director of the Unit for the Study and Resolution of Conflict of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (Port Elizabeth, South Africa), and a partner in the Institute for Conflict Management and Peacemaking (Port Elizabeth, South Africa), as well as a partner in Peacemakers Conflict management Services, (Port Elizabeth, South Africa.) He was president of the South African Association for Conflict Intervention between 1993 and 1994.   

Retief Olivier

Retief Olivier was the Western Cape Regional Director of Consultative Business Movement, which facilitated the establishment of the National Development and Labour Council (Nedlac), and played a key role in the National Peace Accord and the CODESA political negotiation process that led to the first democratic elections in South Africa. As Regional Director of the Western Cape Peace Committee, he was responsible for establishing, managing and developing a diverse staff of 60 people in 14 locations, with a budget of R5 million per annum and training 3000 volunteer monitors for the 1994 national elections. He founded Olivier De Beer Associates in 1996 and works as a consultant in association with MTP.   

Yolaan Adams

Yolaan Adams holds Masters Degrees in Social Policy and Management from the University of Cape Town, as well as a Masters in International Social and Health Policy from the University College of Oslo, Norway. She is an Associate of Londoloza, an environmental management company and is well acquainted with restitution, conservation, land planning and public participation policies. Her qualifications in policy analysis allowed her to contribute substantially to the reviewing of the Sex Offenders Act, the Draft Social Housing Policy and the Child Justice Bill. As a change management specialist she has also provided organisational development services to several non-government and corporate organisations. Specifically assisting organisations to identify transformation needs, develop a change plan, mitigate any risks thereof and monitor the implementation of the change plan as well as review the transformation process once completed.   

Leon Noemdo

Leon holds a MTech degree in Business Management from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and is an associate and consultant at MTP. He has been involved in conflict management training, land mediations and diversity management interventions. He also has experience in financial management services and lecturing post graduate students in Business Studies at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.   

Mbuyiselo Stemela

Mbuyiselo stemela holds a M. PHIL in SA Politics and Political Economy from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University of Technology and is an associate and consultant at MTP. He has been involved in the design of an evictions Monitoring System, public participation and facilitation, strategic development and planning among other. He also has vast experience of interpreting at council meetings, sub-council meetings, public participation forums, disciplinary tribunals, and Municipal courts and has done translation and interpretation work for the Taxi Committee of Enquiry on taxi violence in the Cape Metropole and Parliamentary House Sittings.
